# of Installments as a mandatory field?
November 29, 2010, 12:52:16 pm
I've recently discovered that many of the pending recurring contributions that have been submitted via a contribution page are not being processed. It seems that the contributors forgot to indicate a specific number of installments. I would expect that this should be a mandatory field in order fo the form to be submitted, but I can't find any indication of this field in the Civicontribute admin menu.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Is there a workaround or something I'm missing?

Thanks,
Susan

Susan,

Just to clarify, have you configure recurring option for your contribution page at: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/contribute?reset=1&action=update&id=1&subPage=Amount
Not that above page will show recurring checkbox only if you have configured payment processor with recurring support.

If yes then it should give you option for installments during signup page.

The page is configured for recurring, the problem is that the field for how many installments is not set as a required field and I cannot find any mention of the field in the confirguration options. I was pointed to this article http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/IATS+Configuration , which summarizes the issues that IATS and Civi have with recurring contributions, but does notmention the issue I seem to be having with the transaction not being processed at all if the field for how many installments is left blank on the initial sign up.

Thanks
