VERP Nightmare? Wierd reply-to address
December 01, 2010, 01:02:15 pm
I thought I had everything working. Cron jobs functioning, accounts setup (I think). I have reviewed the steps in the manual and help screens repeatedly.
(I have attached a screen shot of my email setup)
civiCrm 3.2.1

My mass mail goes out nicely.

I set the return address as xxxxxxxxxbounces@gmail.com  (xxx = name of organization)

HOWEVER, when I view the headers of the email, I get this:

Reply-To: r.35.177.34995b44c722aa00@gmail.com
Return-Path: b.35.177.34995b44c722aa00@gmail.com
From: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Subject: Test Mass Mailer 3
List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:u.35.177.34995b44c722aa00@gmail.com>
To: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Precedence: bulk
X-CiviMail-Bounce: b.35.177.34995b44c722aa00@gmail.com

Where do these weird email addresses come from?

Discovered my problem.

I failed to enter the gmail email address in the "local part" of the settings.
