HTML Message function is lost
November 30, 2007, 06:50:41 am
Hello everyone  :)

My install of Drupal 5.3 CiviCRM 1.9.11960 initially provided a simple WYSIWYG editor for CiviMail HTML messages. Yesterday the WYSIWYG icons stopped appearing and recipients no longer receive HTML messages.

In addition to this, selecting a template in 'compose on screen' (/civicrm/mailing/send?_qf_Upload_display=true&qfKey=) no longer populates the HTML panel with the template contents.

In addition to this, the CiviMail Report feature (/civicrm/mailing/report?mid=4&reset=1) no longer displays the "HTML Message » View complete message" for new messages, although older messages sent when the HTML message was working continue to show this ("HTML Message » View complete message").

This condition persists when restoring to a database backup prior to the emergence of this behavior, and it persists when deleting the civicrm codebase and revision upgrading to 1.9.12432.

Anyone have any ideas?

Was there some "change" that occurred "yesterday"? Any chance that this installation was moved to a new location on the server? If so, you'll want to check your Global Settings >> Resource URLs setting.

Checking the Global settings for resource URL's and Directories, and civicrm.settings.php configuration made no difference.

However, backing up my data, dropping the civicrm.settings.php file, and doing a fresh install of CiviCRM made it work again.  Restoring to to my production version of CiviCRM still maintained the working HTML message formatting.
