Installation requirement passed, but still error
December 02, 2010, 10:07:54 am
I tried to install Civic and everything was green on the installer page and the installations seemed to be ready. I clicked the install button, but I got such a long page of error:

I am now running through the installation steps (this should take a few minutes)

If you receive a fatal error, refresh this page to continue the installation

Building database schema and setup files...
Cannot execute INSERT INTO `civicrm_option_value` (`option_group_id`, `label`, `value`, `name`, `grouping`, `filter`, `is_default`, `weight`, `description`, `is_optgroup`, `is_reserved`, `is_active`, `component_id`, `visibility_id`) VALUES (@option_group_id_pcm, 'Phone', 1, NULL, NULL, 0, NULL, 1, NULL, 0, 0, 1, NULL, NULL), (@option_group_id_pcm, 'Email', 2, NULL, NULL, 0, NULL, 2, NULL, 0, 0, 1, NULL, NULL), ........

The page is very long so I can't copy it all here. At the end of the message, it says, "DB Error: constraint violation".

What's going on? Can somebody help, please?

Hmmm, seems odd. Was this database 100% empty? If not, for sure try again with a fresh one.

If it was empty, then please post your PHP and MySQL versions.

Thank you.

I read another post with the same problem:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,14809.0.html

It seems the problem was with civi3.25,which was the version I tried to install. So I gave up on this version and installed 3.16. It still does not work although everything was green on the installer page. However, I got a different error this time:

Cannot execute DROP TABLE IF EXISTS civicrm_financial_trxn: DB Error: constraint violation

MySQL - 5.1.40
phpMyAdmin - 2.8.2.4

You need to start with an empty database. Either make a new one or empty it completely with phpMyAdmin.

Thanks a lot! I removed the database and created a new one. Now it works!

Great. Did 3.2.5 work? Installs fine for me. :)

Unfortunately not, after several trials. I gave up 3.2.5.
