Ticketing in Civicrm 3.3
December 03, 2010, 08:00:58 am
Hi I have got a client that runs an event that is centred around tickets. All their processes will be done manually ie they just want to mange the delegate list from civicrm without using the online booking. Can anyone tell me 1) ticketing is apart of Civicrm 3.3 if not how can I set up an event so my client can run a ticketed event from Civi.

thanks

You can use price sets etc for basic ticketing functionality. Can you explain your use case in detail.

We need to allocate multiple tickets to a contact but be able to assign those same tickets to individual delegates with name badges.

You can use "Multiple Participant" feature in which primary contact enters all the details about additional participants. So basically primary contact is registering and making payment on behalf of additional participants. The you can print badges for each participants.

You can also use price sets with participant count where in single contact registers multiple seats. However all the seats are associated with single contact and you cannot assign / split them into multiple participants. You won't be able to print badges for all participants.

Thanks for your response, I have another query how easy would it be to create a table that will allow us to add participants and link them to the price set particpant count feature.

In other words create a table that allow us to link participants to one of the tickets purchased.

looking forward to your response.

I think this would need to be custom coded as a Drupal module. If you are using Drupal (your profile doesn't mention which) this would not be a very complicated task, for someone with experience coding such.

Great. Good luck with the module and go ahead and start a new thread if you have any questions or updates regarding it.

Good luck. :)
