Where to start after installation?
December 03, 2010, 10:32:03 am
Okay, I am new to drupal and civi so I am confused. I finally installed both and I logged in as admin to http://mysite.com/drupal. I can see civi is enabled, but I don't see any link on the menu. Where should I start to configure/use it? I need to use it for event registration.  I looked up documentations, but couldn't find a quick-start guide. Help, please.

You should see a link to CiviCRM in your Drupal navigation block (make sure that block is enabled from Drupal Administration -> Site Building -> Blocks

You should take a bit of time browsing the online book to get background on how Drupal and CiviCRM work together as well as Profiles and Events.

Thanks. I already browsed through the book. However, I don't think I can't find any answer there. The problem is I don't see a link to CiviCRM on the navigation although the block is enabled.

Did you check if CiviCRM is switched on as a Drupal module?

Try disabling and then re-enabling the CiviCRM module under Drupal > Administer > Modules, and make sure the Role of the User you're logged in as has 'access CiviCRM' permission (and probably most / all of the other CiviCRM permissions if this is an admin level login).
