Odd icons in buttons
December 06, 2010, 01:23:31 am
After upgrading to 3.2.5 and now to 3.3.0, odd icons began to appear on all the buttons in the UI backend cpanel.
Here's a screenshot attached.

Any ideas?

Did you remove your CiviCRM template files? And also use shift-refresh to make sure you have the latest CSS files in your browser.

Will check into this?
Are you saying it's safe to remove the files in template_c? Or, not?

Yes that's safe.

This issue has now returned again after upgrading from 3.3.1 to 3.3.5. I have repeatedly emptied the template_c cache. No avail.

The correct icons appear next to the Recent Items listing in the left column. This is only happening in the dark gray buttons (see image attached)

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Did you update the CSS cache in Drupal? In Admin -- Performance you can clear cached data.

If that fails, then check the site using the Garland theme to make sure there's no theme CSS conflict.

Sorry about that, Hershel. Lost my profile info here in the forums for some reason. This is a Joomla instance. I've cleared the main cache, expired cache and templates_c.  Other thoughts?

I do not know, beyond clearing all cache tables in CiviCRM and all cached templates on disk and also your browser cache.

If you have done all of these, then perhaps start a new thread (for fresh attention) and a Joomla person could answer.

Clash with ".icon" css class in Joomla template will cause this.

It does seem like a css conflict, however I'm not seeing it on our Joomla 3.3.5 demo. We use the default admin template (which I think is khepri). Bruce - are you using some alternative admin template??

In any case, you could try this experiment to see if it fixes things for you. Edit your copy of css/civicrm.css, replacing this:
Code: [Select]
.icon {
    background: url("../i/icons/jquery-ui-52534D.png") no-repeat scroll right top transparent;
    float: left;
    height: 16px;
    text-indent: -10000px;
    width: 16px;
}

with this:
Code: [Select]
#crm-container .icon {
    background: url("../i/icons/jquery-ui-52534D.png") no-repeat scroll right top transparent;
    float: left;
    height: 16px;
    text-indent: -10000px;
    width: 16px;
}
