Over the years that CiviCRM has been worked on and developed, it now has many dependencies and requirements from it's host and it's host's server.

There is a very detailed Installation Guide from CiviCRM (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Joomla+Installation+Guide) of which I have learned many tips and tricks for. CiviCRM is a complicated system, and takes some working to get through. I never have been able to get an installation of CiviCRM to work.

Just be patient :) and POST. There are many of talented people on here, and they are willing to help you! You just need to provide details.
