We are about to build a Jooma site for a client who wants to use CiviCRM, but also prefers the mail features of the Joomla component AcyMailing.  So we will be using CiviCRM to register members and maintain membership lists and donor status.  But the membership email list needs to be passed to AcyMailing.

I guess this is really no different that using the Joomla built-in email function, so for the sake of this discussion we can approach it that way.  Is there anything I should be aware of before trying to use an email component other than CiviCRM's email on the membership lists that CiviCRM creates.
