Greetings,

What is the expected functionality of 1.8 with regard to the choice of country in a profile/contribute form then or parameterizing the list of states available in the drop down list of the state field?

Is 1.8 it expected to do that? And if so, how do I set that up? Presently I don't find that functionality in my forms/profiles/pages where there are country and state fields, mainly contribution pages.

For setting country and state fields, you need to check Global Settings » Localization » Available Countries and for setting the corresponding states you need to select 'Available States and Provinces' for that country.

I re-looked into your question. I think that

is what you are looking at. We currently don't support hierarchical select for profile.

If that is the case, can you file an issue in JIRA.
