onsite form and offsite processing
December 10, 2010, 07:41:40 am
due to inability to use shared SSL, I am looking at having to use an offsite processor.  Has anyone been able to make the donation process '2-step'?  In other words a donation page that has the appeal, and allows the user to fill out their demographic information and hen a donate button at the bottom to send to the external processor?

Even better would be a way for a the user to enter the amount they are donating and then when they click the donate button, they are taken to paypal where the amount is pre-filled out.  Is this possible?

That's how Paypal works in CiviCRM actually. Give it a try. There are two Paypal processors and one works exactly like that. The other is onsite.

Unfortunately that is not completely correct.

The donate form that sends people to an external site, still has the confirmation screen, which turns donating into a four or five step process.

The best thing to do is the following link:

http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Single_click_donations_with_CiviCRM

I knew it had to be around. This gets the data back from paypal without having to have them fill it out first.
