Maybe I missed it somewhere but how do items get onto the list and where does the cost estimate come from?

Hi,

The how of Make-it-Happen is definitely still evolving!

There are a couple of lists of items we looked at that came out of discussions on IRC & the forums and people's various correspondances & communications and the ones that are currently pitched were primarily those for which there was seed funding - although a couple got added to the list because the seemed like they might be acheivable and have a broad appeal.

I think we're a wee way away from having a really clear transparant process but if you have some things you'd like to see as initiatives I would suggest you post them on the forum and request an estimate - and then if you think you have someone able to put up about 25% as seed funding and it seems like a good addition to CiviCRM then start talking to the Core Team or myself about it.

You can also add things to the wiki pages that you'd like to at least see on the radar - but please try to at least canvass the ideas on the forum first so the wiki doesn't become too long to scroll!

For the specific case of 3.4, some of the big ones (rules integration, membership upsell, multiple subtypes) came about with someone wanting it and willing to seed the MIH with a substantial amount (33-50%)

3 others were carry over from the 3.3 MIH

The Joomla ACL thing has for a long time been a fairly big missing piece and J1.6 gives us the chance to fill this gap. It also helps the project involve the joomla developer/user community a bit more
