3.2.5 -> 3.3.1 foreign key constraint fail (location type)
December 13, 2010, 02:14:03 pm
On attempting the upgrade the following error is encountered:

Database Error Code: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`my_civicrm/civicrm_uf_field`, CONSTRAINT `FK_civicrm_uf_field_location_type_id` FOREIGN KEY (`location_type_id`) REFERENCES `civicrm_location_type` (`id`) ON DELETE SET NULL), 1452

[note that the original doesn't say 'my_civicrm', but you get the drift]

I do note that hard coding the location types in the upgrade script was an error with the previous upgrade script.

I'll be busy restoring and debugging locally, but this will take some time as I have my principle role to keep me busy during the day. Meanwhile if anyone can come up with a solution, they get a big cyber-hug!

Cheers! (that's Bristolian for thanks)
