Greetings All,

Is there any way built in to CiviCRM to support promotional codes for discounts on membership at membership signup time?

I have seen discussion of this type of thing in relation to Event Management.

Our organisation wants to allow certain individuals to sign up for membership, rather than an event per se, possibly using a coupon code, special offer, or promotional discount. These will vary from time to time.

Does one have to write code to do this, and how would one get a field on the membership signup profile form for such a thing?

Any pointers to help would be most appreciated.

We're actively developing http://drupal.org/project/civievent_discount to support discount codes for events. This work was done for a client who also has a wishlist to incorporate memberships. Discounting membership fees, applying discount codes automatically based on membership, etc. The running list of feature requests is on the civievent discount project page.

If you're a developer, please consider helping with patches for features or inquire about being a co-maintainer.
