dedupe fuzzy rule for "birth date" not working when adding new contacts

We need to check for duplicates based on date of birth when new contacts are added via the add contacts user interface, but it seems that the fuzzy rule for checking date of birth does not seem to execute. The rule works fine for finding existing duplicates with the "use rule" link on the "Find and Merge Duplicate Contacts" page, but not when adding new contacts.

My current fuzzy rule setup for testing has "Birth Date" with a weight of 10, and "Weight Threshold" set at 10 as well.

Additionally for fun I tried using a rule for "decease date" and that didn't work either. Does fuzzy duplicate checking for dates not work on new contacts? Any suggestions?

This has been tested on Civi 3.2.0 and 3.2.5

hey arvin

can you reproduce this on the demo machine and we'll take a look at it

theorotically, dedupe should work on birth-dates also. I suspect it might not be working due to some "date formatting" issues when we get data from the form

Hi Lobo, thanks for the reply!

I have added a new fuzzy rule on the demo site for individuals and set it as default. This rule only checks for "Birth Date" and the result is the same as my tests. If you could have a look at it that would be great!
