Renaming the word "contribute" for a membership website
December 14, 2010, 03:08:38 pm
Greetings,

The application support folks are asking me to look into changing wording that Civi auto-populates onto the various forms. For our site, the monthly payment is "membership dues" and not a "contribution". The sticky point is that "contributions" are considered tax deductible, where "membership dues" are not.

Is that possible via some admin setting I have just not found? Or are we asking for something that means "search and replace" through Civi code?

Oh cool, Lobo! I will pass that suggestion back to the application people for them to try.

Thank you very much!

LOL... "(e.g. replace all occurences of 'Contribution' with 'Donation')" EXACTLY!!!

uuummm, Firefox thinks the word is actually spelled "occurrences"

That works for the default language, how do you change the civicrm.mo file if you need to change a translated term?

I have a series of .po files - have made the change in the appropriate .po file but I'm not clear how to add the changes back to the .mo file.

I'm using po-edit.  Can I do this in Windows or do I have to do it on the server?
