Dashboard doesn't show up in I.E in 3.3
December 15, 2010, 10:35:25 am
We recently installed 3.3 on a few sites and we have discovered that the dashboard does not load in internet explorer 8,

it just says "Javascript must be enabled in your browser in order to use the dashboard features."

I first thought I.E is doing the only load first 20 file thing like loading CSS so I went to drupal -> performance and compressed all the js files into one.

However, it is still not loading.

It loads fine in every other browser.

Any hints?

Thanks

Cheers!

It looks fine in
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/

But I'm just more curious in what causes that message, it is obviously that CiviCRM is not loading certain dashboard related JS.

BTW I'm using custom dashlets generated from php

Thanks,

Cheers!

You mentioned "recently installing 3.3 on a few sites" - was it an upgrade? There is of course the issue of cleaning up template caches after that, I assume you did that if applicable. Other than that, I would look at the HTML header for drupal.demo.civicrm.org and see if the same set of js files is being loaded as on your sites.

Thx,
m

UPDATE:  I corrected my resource URLs, and the problem has gone away.  I guess the bad URL was causing a problem finding the javascript files.

I'm having a version of the same problem.  I just did a version-by-version upgrade from 3.2.4 to 3.3.2, and now in IE the dashboard is very slow to load, the browser throws an "Out of Memory at Line:12" error, and we get the same message re. Javascript.  The issue started with 3.2.5, I think.

I was going to clear my templates cache, but I don't think I have one.  It should be at /civicrm/templates_c, right?  I don't have a templates_c folder.

Thanks,

Tracey
