I've been have strange problems with the intermittent failure of a contribution form.

I have had wnother developer look at the issue without sucess, basically he had problems making the form fail, it hapenned only once.

One of the things I've also noticed is that in about 10% of the test there is no data written to the database from compulsory fields in the form.

Anyone have any ideas? I've been struggling with this for a while now without any help from the forum. I would appreciate any ideas.

Can you be more specific, which field etc? Also try replicating on http://demo.civicrm.org/

The site has gone live and it hasn't happened yet except when 1 user submitted the same information several times. CiviCRM is set to accept duplicates but I guess that doesn't mean when a contribution is exactly identical to a previous one.

I think I figured this out.

This is a bilingual French English site. When a user uses the French form his name only appears in the Report list when French is selected for the backend language.

Users first and last name appears in the contact information screen but not in the report unless you manually add his first name and last name to the sortname and displayname  fields in the contact table.

I don't think this is a good thing because it confuses the (less experienced) administrators.
