Groundspring and CiviContribute: asked before but I may have used the wrong name
December 06, 2007, 02:19:42 am
Does this integrate with CiviContribute?
If not do I just ask them the for API and what do I say?
Can I see your API?
Just wondering because maybe I can look into making their API work with CiviContribute?
Thanks
Al

Not sure if DonateNow and EmailNow offer any APIs - you might want to ask them directly. Cannot advice you about what do say in that question - it depends on what level of integration you're trying to achieve. There might be some import/export abilities that you could use for manual, batch data synchronisation.

As for CiviCRM API, it is available. You can find all the code for it in $civicrm_root/api/v2/ directory (or here: http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/trunk/api/v2/ for current development version). Unfortunately, the API documentation that's available on the wiki is outdated, it describes APIv1 which is gradually getting out of use, so you would need to take a look at the code to see what API calls are available.

Thx,
m

Yes I was wondering if it was worth working on v1 or not.
I guess I will wait but I do wonder what other people use for payment processing.  And if any of those processors
have a connection to the non-profit business model like Groundspring (Network for Good) say they do.

In a previous life we wrote most of the groundspring donatenow/emailnow code, and know a fair amount of that code base (which was also released under a GPL). When we built the system, there were no internal/external api's designed (note that open api's was a fairly foreign concept at that time). I'm pretty certain that the system have not been extended to add api functionality the past few years

Seems like it would be a good relationship for them.
But from what you are saying most likely there is not API to look at for me if I
ask them?
