I have two custom data fields that I've included some help text for and when they are attached to the profile (which is used in a contribution page) the help text is not displayed. Is that expected behavior?

I would have expected any help for the custom data sets to be carried through to any profiles they are attached to.

I've attached screenshots of both the display of the custom data set in the profile with no help text showed and the actual custom data field where I have input the text.

This is expected behavior.  Custom field help text appears only in the administration areas of CiviCRM, when an admin is viewing and editing a record.

For publicly visible help text in a profile, add the help text in the Profile settings or Profile fields themselves.
