Date Picker returns web address?

Using CiviCRM 3.3.1 and Joomla 1.5.22... we've pointed our joomla registration to a Civi profile and we have Date of Birth as a field... but when you select today (for example) from the picker you get a result that looks like...

   12http://1210site.c35512/21http://1210site.c35512/2010

Which near as I can figure is 12/21/2010 with the / replaced with http://mysite.com/ and then all the m, y and o replaced again by their date values... any ideas where this is coming from?

For the record this is both Joomla front end and Joomla backend... and in both Firefox and IE... and I can't duplicate it on the demo site.

I see I wasn't clear enough. :) When I said it was happening in the backend I meant when I wasn't using profiles either. (I see this got moved to the Using Profiles section)

That said... Changing the date format away from mm/dd/yyyy in the CiviCRM options and then changing it back fixed it. Still no idea why it happened though.
