Mail not sending - incorrectly lists no intended recipients
December 23, 2010, 11:30:51 am
Hi,

I have initiated multiple test mailings to small groups (1-3 contacts) and all are stuck in 'running' mode. The report pages for these mailings (at e.g. http://<my_domain>/civicrm/mailing/report?mid=10&reset=1) list the correct number of recipients (with zero successful deliveries having been made). However, when I click on 'Intended Recipients' on the report page, it states 'There are currently no Intended Recipients.'

I'm not sure what other information would be useful but can provide more as required. Thanks very much.

There is a bug in 3.3.0/3.3.1 which is fixed and will be part of 3.3.2

This Drupal site was upgraded to 3.3.5 yet the same behavior persists. :(

Sending a test sample via CiviMail works fine, but the "real" thing just sits there.

Any other ideas?

make sure the "civimail cron user" has access to 'view all contacts' (which means they have access to send all the mailings. This is documented on the wiki

BUT, more than a few people have reported that it worked in prior releases, which means there was a bug in  the permissioning scheme for mailings. My guess is this was fixed when we bootstrapped drupal and did a better job with permissions on bin scripts

That appears to have been the problem! The civimail cron user had not been granted the 'view all contacts' permission - i have done so now and the mail ran successfully. Thanks very much.

Re: Mail not sending - incorrectly lists no intended recipients

One of my clients experienced the same problem today with one mailing.  They have sent dozens of successful mailing before and several after, including a copy of the mailing with an issue.

The Mailing Report Summary shows 266 Intended Recipients, but when the link to view these recipients is clicked, zero recipients are displayed and I am positive zero emails were sent. The user reported that she attempting to schedule the mailing for a few hours later in the day and that she could not enter an AM/PM (not sure if that's related).

If I can replicate I will, but after several tests I can reproduce.

Any ideas
