Can I change install location of civi settings file in subdirectory install?
December 24, 2010, 11:38:33 am
I have a drupal site at root, with a second development version of the site in a subfolder.

When I attempt to install civicrm 3.3.1 on the development version of the site, in the subfolder, it mostly works, but puts the civi settings file in /sites/default/ instead of my-subfolder/sites/default.

So it seems like the installation script needs to be modified - that having a drupal installation "within" a drupal installation is confusing it.

or do I need to set a baseurl somewhere or something?

From searching through this forum, I realize I can change some values post-installation at http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend.  But that does not move the civi settings file to the right place, and I wonder are there other things that need moving?

I have it set in the htaccess file for the subfolder for drupal such that "RewriteBase /my-subfolder"

suggestions?

yes, a few other folks have also reported that the installer does not install within a sub-site properly.

U'll need to manually move the files and adjust the settings files. If you can  check and fix the installer to handle this case that would be great :)
