Membership start/join dates in the past
December 28, 2010, 05:47:01 am
I am testing out CiviCRM v3.3.1 to see if it will provide the functionality required for a not-for-profit organisation. So far it looks pretty good however one problem i have hit is when trying to set up records for existing memberships. Some are life memberships which were taken out in the early 1960s. When i try to set the join and/or start date the earliest year it will allow is 1990. I am currently setting up records manually but if we migrate to CiviCRM we would need the option to import manually and/or by batch update.

Is there a config item that i have missed? If not can someone please push me in the right direction as to where in the code the limit (is it set to 1990 or set to 20 years) needs to be changed?

Many thanks
Dave

Dave,

Check http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/date?action=update&id=1&reset=1

You can change the offset according to your requirements.

Many thanks that worked perfectly  ;D

One problem i did have is that i could not find this page hanging off the Global Settings page (which is where it claims to be). Managed to go direct to it by using "civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/date" from your link above

Might be worth posting here how to navigate to this page so it will help others with the same problem

thanks again
Dave

Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Date Formats, then click on "Advanced Date Input Settings"
