Database error after upgrade of Joomla/CiviCRM
December 10, 2007, 03:15:19 am
I'm not sure if it was an upgrade to Joomla or CiviCRM that has caused this database error as the error only showed up when I attempted to edit a record which is something we don't do very often. I do remember having a few problems with the database upgrade scripts as I didn't know what the original version number was so I had to reinstall the original version to get that info and then do the upgrade to ver 1.9 a second time.

The error I'm getting in CiviMember when attempting to update a record is:

Database Error Code: Unknown column 'is_bulkmail' in 'field list', 1054

Hopefully someone will recognise that column and know at what point it changed and be able to advise me on how to fix it.

Cheers.

This column was added in the 1.8 → 1.9 upgrade script (sql/civicrm_upgradedb_v1.8_v1.9_41.mysql), so it must’ve stopped somewhere inside this script before line 46 (or the script wasn’t run at all).
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

Thanks for your help. Running that script did the trick. I do remember I was having some problems running the upgrade script but I don't remember if that one didn't run or I just forgot to run it. Regardless, it's working fine now and I appreciate your help.
