Paypal and Pending Contributions
December 10, 2007, 11:20:43 am
I have set up events to register using Paypal Standard. We have no custom fields in the event registration profile. The contribution is recorded and a new contact created. The Registration process appears to the user to be completed successfully. However:
- There is no participant record created.
- The contribution status returns as pending (this is also the case for other contributions).
- The civicrm.log has this message: [info] returning since contribution status is pending

Address details from the Paypal screen are added to the contact record.

We are running using live payments with the following:
Joomla 1.5
CiviCRM 1.9 (latest)
PHP 5.2.5

This is an Australian site. Paypal is set to Paypal.com; local taxes are turned off in Paypal. I'm tearing my hair out.

Help appreciated.

Thanks

Donald Lobo

Based on the info message: "returning since contribution status is pending"

seems like paypal does not ever put the transaction to a complete status

you might want to try using paypal.com.au and see if that helps

Thanks for the reply, Lobo.

We have it working now, not sure why yet, but we changed to a different paypal account. We'll analyse it later to find the differences between the paypal accounts.

Can you please tell me what works?  Is this PayPal Pro or PayFlow Gateway (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-comparison )?

We can't seem to get any paypal scenario to work with PHP 5.2.5.

Thanks for the help.
