How to document participants in CiviEvents without sending out emails
January 02, 2011, 05:59:29 pm
I created an event from a previous month to document attendees and coordinate follow-up.
When I go to register the participants it doesn't give an option to not send out an email confirmation.
Is there a way to disable the system-workflow/automated-email confirmations temporarily while entering past events participants?

How are you entering past participants? You should use Offline event registration form: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/participant/add&reset=1&action=add&context=standalone

Thank you...but I'm still stuck:

I tried that and got the exact same response after completing the form, though:
"Event registration for [contacts name] has been added. A confirmation email has been sent to [contacts email]."

And when I tested with myself, it sent me an email which is what I'm trying to avoid.
It's an online Drupal-based install.

During offline event registration, you can uncheck "Send Confirmation and Receipt", that will not send email to the participant.

Thank you, again, for the reply!  I'm afraid I still don't see / can't find the option you mentioned, so, for now, just to get by, I go in and temporarily delete the contact(s)' email address(es), add them to the event, then re-enter their email address.

We are having this same problem, we are not given the "Send Confirmation and Receipt" option. I dont see it on the link you give to demo site either- I ended up disabling email for the site -- that will work right now but it is not a long term solution

I am trying to register multiple participants via batch upload, and it's sending them a receipt. Is there any way of turning that off?
