Joomla Multisites and Civicrm
January 03, 2011, 05:14:47 am
Hi
Has anyone had any experience or have any advice on using Civicrm in conjunction with the Joomla JMS Multisites component (http://www.jms2win.com/)? We already have set up Jms multisites and are running a few Joomla websites for different divisions of the same organisation. I need to tie in Civicrm so that contacts can be shared between sites, though they will be assigned to a group upon registration that relates to the site that they register from. However front-end features will vary between the sites. Some will have newsletter sign-up, others donation management, and others event registration. I'm sure I'm going to need help to get this working, so any advise from anyone who has tried it already would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

How is the integration coming along? I am looking into tackling a similar problem.

Here is the extension I am looking into using with Joomla 1.6 .  http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/multiple-sites/7557

It basically masks the secondary domain name.  So when setting up civi i would guess enabling the multi site like on drupal would hopefully produce the same result????
