Paid events create no contribution record
January 05, 2011, 05:48:54 am
I'm setting up a new site with 3.3.1 and Drupal 6.20, using Paypal Standard to process event bookings. With Paypal's sandbox the event booking seems to go smoothly: the participant and contact is created, and the participant status is shown as registered, but no contribution record is created.
My site appears to have no civicrm.log file - not sure why. Looking at the web server logs I'm seeing the following list of errors that seem to appear each time I do an event booking:

[client 216.113.191.33] Undefined index: visibility in sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/BAO/UFGroup.php on line 947
[client 216.113.191.33] Undefined index: participant_status_id in sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Event/BAO/Event.php on line 1222
[client 216.113.191.33] Undefined index: participant_role_id in sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Event/BAO/Event.php on line 1229
[client 216.113.191.33] Undefined index: participant_fee_level in sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Event/BAO/Event.php on line 1243

I would have thought that the participant status should be set Pending from incomplete transaction until such time as the IPN from Paypal has been received, so I'm unclear as to why participants are being given a registered status? And why no contribution record? Isn't a contribution record created at the point of making an event registration?

Any input welcomed.

-- Contribution record is created during the participant registration also. If you are doing the test drive of registrations, Contact is created but  the contributions and registrations are not show on contact dashboard or Event/Contribution dashboard, you can search those contributions by going to Find Contribution -> and check  "Find Test Contributions?" .  or Find Participants -> check " Find Test Participants?".

are you doing the test registrations ?
