How Often Should The CiviMail Cron Job Be Set To Run ?

I know the answer is probably as often as it needs to, but what time interval are others using and how large are your batches?

Also, I'm a little confused between the actual time interval specified for the Cron Job and the Mailer Spooler Period specified in the CiviMail Mailer Settings. Care to comment?

it depends on how many mailing you intend to do on a daily basis, how large the mailings are and what your batch limit is.

Based on those three numbers you can probably calculate the minimum number of times it needs to run to process all the emails. I'd add a significant safety factor to that and use that as my cron schedule basis
