Strict rule for New Individual not working in 3.1.3 and Demo site

Hi All,

Somehow the strict rule for Individual is not working for 'email' when I create a New Individual. Civicrm allows to create 2 individuals with same email address without warning. I tried in 3.1.3 and also in following demo site yesterday:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/deduperules?reset=1&action=browse

Please see there are 2 contacts 'k1 rao', 'k2 rao' with same email address 'k1@gmail.com'.

'Find and Merge Duplicate Contacts' has setting:
Individual - Strict - Email - Weight 10, Weight Threshold 10

Not sure if I am missing something. This seems to be a basic functinality that should be working.

As per Documentation "The default 'Strict' rule is automatically used when new contacts are created".

Please help.

Looks like demo DB has already been reset. However, the STRICT rule is used for public ("front-end") forms. The FUZZY rule will be used by the "New Individual" form and that will allow 2 contacts with the same email address by default (first, last, email need to match to cause duplicate warning).

I think you are right that the Fuzzy rule is being used for New Individual. This was unexpected, though at least we can set the Fuzzy rule accordingly. Thanks - kdas
