CiviEvent and Paying for Multiple Events
May 09, 2007, 12:00:26 pm
I just installed 1.7 and my organization put CiviEvent to use immediately. I must say it is a really excellent way to set up events. The only limitation we've run into is from the fact that we are running a large festival -- The festival has dozens of events that all happen over 5 day period. It's unwieldy to make the user register AND PAY for each event individually.

I reviewed the documentation for "Price Sets" (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Price+Sets) -- this will certainly help. but it seems like another important evolution of the CiviEvent system would be to have shopping-cart-like functionality. so user's could browse the listing of event, add the event their interested in, then go to the shopping-cart page to review their picks and do the final payment all at once.

(my organization is using paypal standard... would there be an easy way to utilize the paypal shopping cart for this?)

Please consider adding a more detailed description of your use case(s) and how you would see them supported in a future release to the wiki:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviEvent+-+Phase+2

Also consider whether your organization might be able to contribute engineering or financial resource to help implement.  :)

There is also a drupal module called CiviConference, which uses CiviCRM Events, and puts them in a shopping cart.
