Accordion menu tab dropdown issue
January 11, 2011, 03:42:49 pm
Hi all,

We are having an issue with the accordion drop down tags in all civi screens. The tabs don't expand on our site under Firefox or Chrome, so it doesn't appear to be a browser issue.

When we click on 'expand all tabs' we can see the extra fields, but even then the tabs don't contract again. I couldn't find anything about this anywhere. Has anyone else had this issue?

Just for clarification:

The dropdown accordions work on the Civi demo site on my computer, but not on our own site.

I am running latest civicrm on drupal 6 with garland theme, no other themes installes, the only extra modules installed are adminmenu.

Is there any javascript  errors?
Firebug extension ( for Mozilla ) will be more easy to track those errors. Do not forget  to clear your browser cache before check.

Thanks Rajan,

Only errors in Firefox are:

CKEDITOR is not defined
[Break On This Error] if ( CKEDITOR.instances['email_1_signature_html'] ) {
add?ct...reset=1 (line 718)
CKEDITOR is not defined
[Break On This Error] if ( CKEDITOR.instances['email_1_signature_html'] ) {

I don't have ckeditor installed yet - are the accordion tabs dependant on that?

It seems strange that nobody else has ever had this issue. Any ideas?

A copy of CkEditor is installed automatically with CiviCRM and is the default Rich Text Editor - so it should be functioning unless you explicitly turned it off under CiviCRM > Administer > Configure > Global Configuration > Site Preferences. This seems like a configuration problem - something preventing all the .js files from loading / executing properly. Did you check Firebug (Firefox plugin) for additional errors? Try accessing the various .js URL's you see when you view source?

Hi,

you should check the resource url in the config, it feels like there is a problem there (be sure that's the absolute url).

Thanks Xavier, that's done it - there was a simple mistake in the URL config because I had to copy the civicrm.settings file from the root of the webserver to the subdirectory, so it added another line of the url.

Thanks to all who have contributed so much to this software. We are just starting to implement it for a worldwide not for profit and so far the response has been very positive. Will keep you posted.
