I've created a new template fine but I would prefer that CiviMail users can't see it or accidentally edit or choose it.

How can I make it a System Workflow Message instead of a standard Message Template?

The civicrm_msg_template table doesn't seem to have a setting for this.

Ryan - System Workflow message templates have a workflow_id assigned in their row in that table. I guess if you assigned some random high integer to your template, it will be excluded from CiviMail Select Template field.

Aha - thanks.

I assume that's the ID for other code to call on that template, so the world will not implode if I just assign a few numbers...
