contribution page user account registration and confirm button problem!
January 14, 2011, 04:55:52 am
I am new to CiviCRM and search the forums but did not get the right answer.

I am using Joomla 1.5 and CiviCRM 3.3. On my contribution page, I have included customize profile. In my customize profile's advance setting, I check [Account creation required] on [Joomla user account registration option?]

1) when I visit the contribution page as anonymous, I fill in all the customize data in the registration form, that is ok. However, when I logged in again as the new user just made, I saw all my customize data in that profile. Is there any way I can hide the customize profile data view for any logged in user, as I don't let them to modify their data without admin's permission.

2) After I press the contribution confirm button, it redirect me out to the home page, can I retain on the same contribution page? I am not sure whether this related to the joomla template used??

I don't think so. You can use custom template and javascript to make those fields readonly.

It should redirect you to payment processor page and than after payment it should come back to thank you page. Which payment processor do you use?

You might want to check and read:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Customizing+CiviCRM+Screens

You might also want to try using a "real" processor and see if it is different from the dummy processor behavior

Good and useful reference :)
I think that would be difficult for me to perform the real payment process test, the donation is for test only, I wonder what will happen if I click the paypal for example.

Hi Lobo, If I want the contribution receipt not includes user profile data, (i.e. a lot of user private data during registration), is the only way to modify templates one by one?

I wonder I use custom profile for collecting user information, such as educational detail is suitable work-flow. It is because the custom profile detail, I only need once when user registration, but they should not occurs in other pages. Please advise the short-cut method if any, thanks and appreciated.

What I mean "not occurs in other pages" is: not display custom profile data in front end for any user to view or in any contribution receipt.

Well then I guess you should not include that profile for your contribution page. Check Include profile section for contribution page.

Hi Kurund, I did include the profile in contribution page. I think I make a wrong logic (workflow) before;

I setup the contribution page, includes the custom profile and custom fields, in advance option, I force the user to registration if they do not have account in Joomla. This was fine when anonymous click the contribution page, he will ask to create an account, fill in all the necessary fields and custom fields. However, if one who has an account and click the login link, his profile will shown again in the contribution page because I have included the profile in that contribution page. This is not necessary to show that and cumbersome if custom profile contains a lot of personal input fields.

In fact, what I need should be divided it into two phases; for anonymous register page and for user who has account already. I only need to include the profile (collect user's data) in registration page once. I do not need to include that profile in the contribution page, is this more logical for the contribution workflow?

But I still have a question, when user already has an account, and click the "login" link, he will redirect out to the homepage, so, where should I set the parameters such that I can bring him back to the contribution page?

This is more of a joomla related question. Sorry I am not aware of this. May be ask on joomla forums?
