Best practice question on updating address fields
January 14, 2011, 10:22:59 am
If a client has a large number of address updates to do what is the best way to remove addresses?
For example.
They noticed some records had Main and Work addresses that where the same.
They would like to update the database removing all Main addresses and make the Work Address the only address and in this case primary.
Seems it is hard to remove addresses in an import/update manner with large datasets.
Thanks

Especially for large db's I would write custom script to delete addresses.

There is a location api that should help you.

We are working on improving the API, it would be great if you could upgrade the location one while you are using it (more news this week end on the API forum).
