Accessing install/index.php throws 404 error
January 15, 2011, 09:47:29 am
Hello,

I'm using Drupal 6 and downloaded the civicrm 3.3.2.

Installed the extracted civicrm into sites/all/modules
777 chmod to sites/all and subdirectories/files

When trying to access MYURL/sites/all/modules/civicrm/install/index.php gives a 404 error.

I checked the .htaccess and uncommented the RewriteBase / as my drupal was installed in the public_html folder

despite the above i'm still getting the 404 error. Checking on different threads at drupal.org i tried moving the install folder to the root and changing the $crmpath to the public_html/sites/all/modules/ and also replacing DIRECTORY_SEPERATOR to '/'

Notes:
I'm using clean URL's
This is not a multisite installation

None of the above helps. Is there anything that i'm missing out on?

Ok, I read somewhere on this forum in another thread where the person was asked to check with their webhost. I did the same and was informed it was to do with some permissions issue.

Just finished installing civicrm. :)

Will check with my webhost on what the exact permission problem was. Might be helpful for others.

Cheers.
