Local clean installation on a Mac with apache etc etc. Installed CivCRM - all is fine. Using Joomla 1.6.
Go to Components/civiCRM and its front page comes up but says "Loading" and clicking on any links, or trying to add a user just comes up with a browser page "Link broken". This is still loading an hour later - guessing its stuck!
For instance I click on Home and get "index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/dashboard&reset=1&"
Or click on New Contact and get "peoples/admin/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contact/add&reset=1&ct=Individual&"

3 days of trying - can someone tell me why all links are broken within the civiCRM installation on my site? Just says "loading..."

Hi current versions of CiviCRM are not officially compatable with Joomla 1.6 yet. Next versions will be, see blog articles on front page for details and timelines of v4.0 which will also introduce proper ACLs within CiviCRM on Joomla.

However, if you are in the backend and you mean that the little widget things just keep spinning and loading for ever that could, of course, be a J1.6 issue but if you do a search for dashboard widgets on this forum you will find that various people have had problems with them. A patch has been applied but doesn't solve all such issues. Essentially if your hosting (or your box) cannot resolve an internal URL then it will fail.
