I am trying to have CIVIMAIL match my ISP's outbound throttle speed using mail()

I would like to have CIVIMAIL send at about 300 emails per hour -

I run a cron every 5 minutes to check for jobs

should the spool period be 300 and the batch be 25 ?

ie every period of 5 minutes send batches of 25 - or am I not understanding something --
