Standalone Installation Manual
January 21, 2011, 08:49:04 am
We are investigating using CiviCRM on Drupal, but my boss wants a demonstration of the software before giving his approval.  Our security requirements will cause us to wait at least a week before installing Drupal, so I would like to install the standalone version just for the demo. I had downloaded the standalone version earlier, but I need the installation instructions, which I can't find on the website.  Can anyone point me to these instructions?

hey patrick:

standalone is no longer supported and hence there is no download or instructions.

We have a public demo machine:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/ that you can use for a quick demo. Note that the state of that instance is always interesting since folks can do anything with it.

I don't think the demo site will pass muster with the boss since I can't customize it as much as he would like.  I'm gong to leave my post active in case anyone can send me a copy of the standalone installation manual

Patrick,

It should be possible to run Drupal from XAMPP on a USB stick... or from a Turnkey Linux Drupal 6 appliance running in Virtualbox 4, all free downloads that will essentially have you up and running fairly quickly and painlessly.
