We have a NGO which is working for Education for Students in India . Our model is we bring the needy student and the sponsoring person together and the person funds the students education and give the student personal support throughout his education period.

I have installed CiviCRM .I wanted to know how can I maintain a relationship between student and the sponspor . i want a record management between the student and sponsor so that i can have a history of student grades in school,expenditure records ,emails, meetings etc . So that if either of the student or sponsor logs in .he should be able to see all in his dashboard .

I tried the relationship feature ...but not sure how can i use that for the above requirements ..

Can anybody please help us customizing the above use case in Civicrm .Or is there any other package for this .

We are using a Drupal installation on fedora server .

Below Is the Use Case for the model .
Actors : Student , Sponsor and Facilitator .
A relationship has to be maintained between all the three of the above . So that each of them can access each other information and records at any given time .

For eg , Student will log his montly expenditure end of each month so that the sponsor and facilitator can keep view his records any time  on the website .
Sponsor will send a payment to the student's account each month depending on the student expenditure .
Facilitator arranges a phone/meeting/chat between student and sponsor each month and keep a record for the MOM.
etc .

Records for Students;
Name , Address , Sponsor ,School Records ,Expenditure Records ,Bank Account ,Emails records .

Records for Sponsor:
Name , Address ,Sponsored Students ,Bank Accounts , Emails records .

Records for Facilitator:
Name , Address , Assigned Students,Assigned Sponsors , Emails records .


I was trying to create a relationship between the contacts in my current installation .But when I open the contact dashboard I am not able to see the relationship tab. I have the realtionship enabled . Is there anything else I need to do .

My NGO is india based but I am currently in US . I am myself a IT consultant and doing a volunteer job for  my NGO to setup its IT infrastucture . Our NGO depends on the volunteering work for the IT needs and cannot afford to pay for these services .

I have completed the setup for CRM . Currently I m customizing CRM for our needs . We dont have a very complex requirement as I already mentioned it in my post . Just few cliches that i need to resolve as mentioned in the post  . If you can help me with those I would appreciate .

In CiviCRM administration you need to create the relationship types. Then you can create a relationship between two contacts. Does that help?

A contact can be an individual, org or household.

A profile is a collection of information about a contact that can be exposed (i.e. for the contact to fill out or read only to display information about a contact).

CiviMember allows you to record and manage a membership for a contact.
