Input date picker missing the day field; shows 'j' instead
December 16, 2007, 09:36:32 pm
In the entry of Individual birth date and other dates, including CiviEvent start and end dates, the Day field in the date picker is missing, and in its place is the letter 'j':

[monthPicker] j [yearPicker]

I have looked over all the setups I could find related to dates, and I cannot find anything amiss. I also checked the issues list and could not find this logged as an issue.

Help will be appreciated. (I also checked, and I do believe this is a CiviCRM issue, not Drupal.

I failed to mention that the date picking control that sits just under the display of the month, day, and year does not function. When I "Click to select date/time from calendar" nothing happens.

Minton,

Which version of CiviCRM are you using?

For mysterious "j" letter, it might be worth to check Administer CiviCRM › Global Settings › Date Formats, "Date Input Fields" section - please verify that the date format is right (use yellow question mark icon for hints on proper values).

Date picker not working might mean that you have your resource URLs set to wrong values - please check in Administer CiviCRM › Global Settings › Resource URLs. Might be also worth to verify if "calendar-setup.js" file loads correctly and is in right place. It might be also connected to a problem mentioned in previous paragraph.

Thx,
m

I'm using CiviCRM 1.9.12432.

I have previously checked CiviCRM › Global Settings › Date Formats, "Date Input Fields" section to verify that the date format is right, and they look correct to me. I am going to ask the developers to also check it over. I will also ask them to look at the Resource URLS and the calendar-setup.js file.

Thanks!

calendar-setup.js seems to be in the right place and loading.  Here are two one screenshots from Firebug(that will fit the file size limit).  There is an error coming from calendar-setup.js. The console shows this error (same line number occuring) 3 times.

It seems something is not getting passed in to calendar-setup.js.  The error message in the console is:
params.dateField has no properties

and it gives the error line as 193 in calendar-setup.js.  As Minton says it is Powered by CiviCRM 1.9.12432.

Playing with the input date formats does seem to help. Before I could change the imput format but still got errors here is a magic version that works.

%Y-%b-%d %H:%M

Seems to be working both for input and output.

%B %e %Y %I : %M %p

Did bring back the day of month input but yielded an invalid date (or did I screw up the input - I will have to play on the backup).

:(  Although the above changes allowed me to enter dates for an event.  The format had not changed when entering a birthday under an account.  There the drop down boxes are the same as before I started working on the input format under Administer CiviCRM › Global Settings › Date Formats, "Date Input Fields".  Is this a separate configuration?

Hey,

Birthday field uses "Complete Date" setting, not "Complete Date and Time".

Thx,
