Registering users during event registration
January 25, 2011, 07:33:19 am
Using CiviCRM 3.3.2 and Joomla 1.5.22, I'd like to set up optional user registration along with event registration. By default, the event registration page shows the multiple registrant selector and the event pricing options at the top of the page, then the optional site registration section which appears just before the first custom profile for the event. Is there any way to get the optional site registration part to appear at the top of the page? Or is there a better workflow to achieve this?

Also, can someone explain how to set up event registration for users who are logged in?

I have moved blocks around on the event registration pages by copying the existing tpl file and moving the section around where I want it. For example, my client wanted the pay later button to appear just above the credit card section, so I copied the templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registration/Register.tpl file into the directory I have configured for custom templates. That template overrides the built in template and all registration pages now get the new layout.

If you only want to do this for a specific event, add directory for the event id - templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registraion/{event_id}/Register.tpl.

A more in depth explanation and walkthru are available here.

I'm not sure what you mean by "set up an event registration for users who are logged in". Can you give us the use case?
