I using CiviCRM 1.9 on Drupal. I get this error when selecting 'Test-drive Registration.'

[Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred. You cannot register for this event currently. Return to home page.]

I have two profiles inside the Event config page, one called 'Member Reg Entry' (all Individual fields) and another called 'Conference Participation Reg Entry' (all Participant fields).

On the same Event config page, the date-picker entry fields do not work properly -- see separate issue I posted on that.

I am in fairly desparate shape, regarding the time available to register for the conference, so help is appreciated (this being my first Drupal experience, and way more complex than I imagined)!

I just ran into this error too, and pushing the online registration start date to a day earlier fixed it.

When you create the event details, the form defaults to the current date and time. In my case, the problem is that my server is in a different timezone. So the date configured in the settings was based on my timezone, but when it compared it with the "current date," it apparently compared it with the date configured on the server, which was two hours earlier, and thus I was not yet authorized to register online. In addition to improved error handling, maybe there's a way to bring those two dates and the comparison in sync.
