"Find Cases" search parameters lists disabled case types
January 25, 2011, 08:39:05 pm
This is reproducible on the demo site.

Go to Administer > CiviCase > Case Types and disable a Case Type
Go to Other > Cases > Find Cases
The disabled case type is listed as a search criterion

Expected behaviour: the cae type should not be listed

If they aren't listed though how would you find those cases? The cases themselves are still valid cases.

@demeritcowboy,

If I disable a relationship type, relationships of that type continue to appear in the database, but the type can't be searched on (Advanced Search) or added.

Ditto for activity types.

Also, the list of case types presented in the Find Case form is not derived from the content of the civicrm_case table, but from the list of Case Types. (My point being that the system doesn't consider what I might be looking for in my database. That would be improvement that would improve the usability of the search facilities for cases, relationships, activities, and a host of other lists.)

Ken

(My concern arises out of two factors. Firstly, a desire to keep the sample case types such as "Gender issues" by disabling rather than deleting them. Secondly, to ensure consistency with other option lists.)
