Hello,

We have a client who uses CiviCRM to manage membership.  Most members create their own usernames and passwords but some are created manually by staff (on receipt of a paper application form).

We'd like a workflow for these members to automatically be set up and sent drupal logins and I am checking that I won't be re-inventing the wheel by writing something (maybe for civicrm/bin) that does the following at regular intervals

1) Looks for all members that do not have a drupal account
2) creates them one using a sensible username (based on name in civicrm and avoiding already existing usernames)

we are writing this module here: https://github.com/michaelmcandrew/gp/tree/master/modules/custom/gpew_user_import

name might change to something like civicrm_make_user_for_members

The start of the module was based on Drupal User Import which is actually a pretty simple module when you look at the code
