ISAPI filter for PHP
February 03, 2011, 12:55:52 pm
I am attempting an install of CiviCRM 3.3.3 with Drupal.   I am encountering an issue with an ISAPI filter for PHP.
My environment is a virtual machine running Windows Server 2008, SP2, with IIS.  I have attempted to follow the Microsoft/IIS instructions in:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Installation+of+CiviCRM+on+Microsoft+IIS
This document references PHP 5.2.13.  That one is not out on the PHP download page anymore.   I have tried getting at first version 5.3.5, then 5.2.17.
I have followed the PHP install instructions from this URL:  http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=35127954
The directions in there (updated last on July 7, 2010) mention that version 5.2.13 is the highest version supported by CiviCRM within a Microsoft environment.   If that is still the case, then I need help with finding this older version of PHP.
I was able to follow the directions for extracting the PHP files and making the changes to the php.ini file.   I hit trouble when I am configuring IIS for PHP from these instructions:  http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/IIS+5.1+Configuration+for+PHP
When attempting to add an ISAPI filter, I can’t find the file C:\PHP\php5isapi.dll.    There are no dll files anywhere that reference isapi.
So is PHP version 5.2.13 still the newest that will work with CiviCRM in a Mircosoft environment?   If so, where can I still find that?   If newer versions of PHP work now with CiviCRM/Microsoft, then how do I configure the ISAPI filter?

either 5.3.5 or 5.2.17 will work fine. Given a choice i'd go with 5.3.5

this seems more like installing php on a windows 7 question. So might have better luck and seeing if google has the answer and/or other windows/php users have hit this issue

dont use windows, so have no idea about configuring ISAPI filters. sorry
