Problem after install of 1.9 on Joomla 1.5 RC 3
December 19, 2007, 02:49:37 pm
Hi,

I have just installed CiviCRM on Joomla 1.5 RC 3 on Php 5/Mysql 5 on a Fedora Core 7 box which I administer.  I used the  installation instructions and followed the "install from directory" method.  All seem to work fine - i got the "installed successfully" message, however once i click on the "Component" -> "CiviCRM Home" menu item as an administrator I get the following error:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

Please review the CiviCRM Installation Guide and try searching the CiviCRM Mailing List Archives for information on the error below.

Error Details:

[pear_error: message="" code=0 mode=callback callback=CRM_Core_Error::handle prefix="" info=""]

Have i missed a vital step?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Every time I've received the "pear_error" message, it's been related to email misconfigurations within CiviCRM. But it seems odd to be getting it when you're just trying to access the admin tools.

1) Do any of the other menu options for CiviCRM work?
2) Can you look at your MySQL database and confirm that the CiviCRM tables were created.

I've just tried and none of the other CiviCRM menu items work - they all give the same PEAR error.

I checked my Mysql database and there are lots of civicrm_ tables listed, so it appears they all installed okay.  Anything else i can try?
