Drupal calendar using CiviEvents
February 04, 2011, 08:56:53 pm
Like several other users, I've been trying and trying to configure a Drupal Calendar that's populated with CiviEvents.

I've tried to follow the directions at both http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Using+Drupal+Calendar+with+CiviEvent and http://drupal.org/node/341716

The problem I keep encountering is that content type I create in Step 2 as outlined below is not available as a content type choice for Step 3 when instructed to "Under "FeedAPI Node", check the box to enable the feedapi_node processor on this feed and make sure the content type from Step 2 is selected."

How can I make sure the content type from Step 2 is selected when it's not an available choice? The only content types I have to choose from are the default Drupal content types; it doesn't include any of the custom content types I've created.

Does anyone have any ideas whether it's a permissions or admin setting or something else entirely which I've somehow neglected to configure correctly which is preventing my custom content types from showing up as choices?

I'm able to create the custom content types without a problem (with custom fields added & everything), and they show up in the admin list of content types. I'm baffled as to why they're not available as a choice in Step 3.

I've included a shot of the choices I am offered. Should I choose the generic Feed Item as the content type instead? Please help!! Thank you!

2. Decide what content type will be used for nodes imported from your iCal feed. It can be a separate content type for each feed, or they can be combined into other content types. Make sure the content type you select has a date field that can be used for the iCal date, plus fields for any other iCal information that will be imported. If you would like to include the link to register in this node, you will also want to have CCK Link module enabled and installed, and your content type should include a field for this.

3. Decide if you are going to use the 'Feed' content type or create a new one to be the container for your CiviEvent feed. If you create a new one: Create a new content type for iCal feeds. Make sure that "Refresh feed on creation" is unchecked. Under "FeedAPI", check that this is a content type for downloading feeds to your site. Scroll down and under "Parser Common iCal Syndication", check that you want to enable the ical parser for this feed. Under "FeedAPI Node", check the box to enable the feedapi_node processor on this feed and make sure the content type from Step 2 is selected.
