Multi-Page Registration Form
February 05, 2011, 12:28:25 pm
Hi,

I'm really interested in using CiviEvents for my clients events but I just have a few questions about the functionality.

1. Is it possible to easily create multiple page registration forms like the example below?

Step 1 - Personal Information
Step 2 - Accommodation page
Step 3 - Travel page
Step 4 - Social Activities page
Step 5 - Companion registration
Step 5.1 - Companion Social Activities page
Step 6 - Verification page (summary of registration)
Step 7 - Payment page (if required)
Step 8 - Thank You page

2. Also, can you link to records into one Parent record? I'm basically looking to link a single/multi Child records to one Parent record. My client's events sometimes allow the registrants to register their Spouse. Their Guests are allowed to register for Social Activities specifically for the Spouses. I noticed that the CivicSchool module allows Parents to be linked to the Student records. Can this be done? I haven't checked it out but that is what I am looking for.  The main Participant sometimes has to purchase these Social Activities that their Guest is registering for. Can the main Participant also pay for the Guest's fees?

3. Do you have examples of the types of Reports that can be generated from Civievents? Can you create Summary Type reports?

Example: Participant Roles - Attendee, VIP, Exhibitor, Guest
- Generate a summary report that displays which Sessions the Attendees have selected.
- Generate a report that displays just the Exhibitors.

Thanks,

Randy

"Out of the box" - CiviEvent supports "main participant" registering for / paying for additional participants ("guests / spouses" in your example) and you can assign different "profiles" (form snippets) to collect main participant vs. guest information for the event.

Event registration is 3 pages (main participant info + payment info, confirmation, thank-you) PLUS 1 page for each additional participant. You'll need to do custom coding to expand to more pages.

You should check out the reports on the public demo to see how close they are to your requirements:

... and also browse the online book, Events section:
